  • Realizin'

I'm so glad I'm able to relax, finally. This semester has been quite loaded with many events with little bits of downtime.
I'm looking forward to hangin' with friends! If you have any free time and wanna hang, let me know!

I'll be in town till the 25th or 26th, then out to KC for IHOP's OneThing prayer conference till January 2nd, 2009.  Please pray that travel will go smoothly and that I will be able to have a place to stay while I'm there!

Let me know how things are going with you!

    love&blessings,

    Mid-August Chatters

I've been engrossed in this book for about a week almost and I just can't seem to put it down.  The lines are intriguing as well as the plot.  Obviously, when you realize that someone has been through some of the things you delved into many years ago, you seem to get attached and ...engrossed.  I should write the author...

As for other things going on:

    August 14th: No Work/XYZ Luncheon 10:30A-12N
August 15th: Last Day of Work for the Summer/Lunch with Bev/No Friday Night plans
August 16th: Coffee with Kendra @ 10A/Shopping? Packing? idk...
August 17th: Dinner with fam before we all head-off a la escuela
August 18th: Move back to HU!

...and the rest that follow are consecutive, but more detailed, because of more events entering daily activities.

Have you ever wrote out a list of your good qualities? Probably, and it was most likely a school assignment, or something that was required in a peer mediation group or during some kind of 'get-to-know-you' activity...or maybe even at church...
Well, have you ever written a list extricating all of your bad qualities?  I bring this up because I had learned through some kind of communication that it would be a good psychological exercise; to finally see yourself through others' eyes--namely...your enemies...but it could be your friends as well (depending on how well you know yourself: good AND bad).

    Try it.
    Try both.
Compare them and see what surfaces. Maybe some convictions. Possibly some confessions. Hopefully some praises.

    ---------------
Being aware is not a chore for me. It's a daily exercise.  It can sometimes come on as OCD, but then, being with friends, the wise ones, hold me accountable for such behavior.
Can being aware be considered as in the Bible being watchful?  It is listed many times throughout the Bible.  Apparently, it's the same when your parents keep telling you to "wash your hands after you sneeze"; after so many times, you begin to realize it's importance to the source.  And in the Bible it's Source.

Let me know what you think on these.
Opinions, truths, and prophecies are encouraged

    Blessings friends!

    What I've Realized

I realized some things while reading "Next To Nothing" (which I finished two days ago).  And after talking with some very close friends at heart, I realized how (at least at this point in time) I am not ready to be committed to such a group as Selah House.  Through time and more healing, the Lord will teach me what needs to be known.  Whether or not He wants me at Selah House for my internship is up to Him.
The prayer that I would like is that I "be still and know" that He is Lord.
Not by my own precepts, but by His alone.
What I must do is something the song GOD of Justice conveys.

    Here are the lyrics:

God of Justice, Savior to all
Came to rescue the weak and the poor
Chose to serve and not be served

    Jesus, You have called us
    Freely we've received now
    Freely we will give

We must go live to feed the hungry
    Stand beside the broken
    We must go
    Stepping forward
    Keep us from just singing
    Move us into action
    We must go

    To act justly everyday
    Loving mercy in everyway
    Walking humbly before your God

    You have shown us
    What You require
    Freely we've received
    Freely we will give

    We must go
    Live to feed the hungry
    Stand beside the broken
    We must go
    Stepping forward
    Keep us form just singing
    Move us into action
    We must go

Fill us up and send us out
Fill us up and send us out
Fill us up and send us out, Lord

    ------------------------

At Faith Baptist Church, we are going through the book of Acts.  This song emphasizes such things as mentioned in Acts as well as the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20), the Greatest Commandments (Matthew 22:37-40), and what Religion is acceptable to God our Father (James 1:27). Just amazing.

As my friend, Anna Prohaska said: "I want to be more of a 'Mary' than a 'Martha' in the sense that I want to act in being rather than doing."

    Being for Him FIRST.

    Selah House

    Selah House (www.selahhouse.net)
*check it out for more information; it will fill in the gaps as to the topic of this particular blog

I met with my advisor today in Huntington about the possibilities of my upcoming internship (called PRIME) nearing around (the closest time) Spring 2010.

I told him about my interview with Selah House on July 14th and how much of an impact it had on me.  The impact was my heart's desire to be a part of that ministry.

As I got closer to Anderson, IN (and driving through the city), I felt it especially strong. When I entered the house (on the website, you can see the house; inside AND outside, as well as the owned property) I noticed the welcoming atmosphere; like a home away from home.  Everyone was dressed as in a Friday-Professional modest style, and ..get this: no one wore socks or shoes.

When the interview commenced, I was led into a room like an upper-class living room.  With two couches, containing lined pillows, facing each other, a coffee table, and a comfy chair off to the side, Shane and Amos began the conversation of why I chose to have an internship with them.  I was stumbling over my words (going through many drafts) during the interview because of the extreme emotional high I was on, with the realization of the power of the place, and it's presence in my heart. When I explained to them my desire to work with girls who are going through the same struggles I've been through in my past, and to help with (or lead up) the/a musical worship program, they were surprised.  They said, "well that's interesting that you are desiring to work with us in building a musical worship program because....we've been praying for that for quite a while now."
Needlesstosay, there was mutual (professional--in other words "subdued") excitement.

As we continued in the interview with bipartisan excitement, they asked me about when I would be able to help them in their ministry and how long. And, as the interview ended, they asked if they could pray for me. (HUGE SMILE on my part!) Of course I internally jumped at the idea.  They brought out their accountant who has been working with them for a while and had been going through a difficult time currently...and still battles with ED.  The prayer was like an onlaying of confirmation by the Holy Spirit.

Selah House is a major possibility as to what I will do for PRIME (Practical Research and Immersion through Ministry Effectiveness) around Spring of '10.

Please pray for this opportunity as to what the Lord's will may be for me and the group or persons with whom I will be working.  May it be for His Glory.
